We are not quite there yet--still working on equal rights including women's rights but we have come a long ways from the Declaration of Independence being limited to the life, liberty and happiness for white males only. Noting that during that time many were outside the arc of human rights in the Declaration. The Declaration was formed to mobilize certain groups of Americans, ignoring others and is still used to cover up serious conflicts of interest but never the less we the people are transforming the meaning of the Declaration of Independence by demanding the government to adjust and revise laws so that all are guaranteed equal rights to life, liberty and happiness.
